Adventures:

Dalhousie offers the new and fast growing sport of sea kayaking, an activity which promotes healthy living and offers the opportunity to take advantage of the great outdoors, either in fresh or salt water. Kayak tour adventurers sit comfortably in our custom designed wood kayaks built by Inch Arran Expeditions. Tourists have the option of choosing between using a single kayak or partnering up with another to enjoy the experience. Included in the two-hour tours are basic instruction, orientation, interpretation, historical facts and legends as well as snacks and refreshments. Tours run from early June to late August.

Horseback Riding

Mountain Brook Stables was established in 1997 as a boarding stable. Since then, it has grown and is now offering public trail rides and riding lessons for people of all ages. The professional services offered at Mountain Brook Stables include boarding, transportation, lessons, birthday parties and gift certificates. Experienced guides and well-mannered horses will lead you on a half hour trail ride, one hour trail ride or "Paddock Rides" for the young riders of 10 years and under. Try a day adventure which is a 2 ½ hour trail ride that consists of a ½ hour riding instruction, hands-on experience with the horses, question and answer period and of course the exhilarating adventure of horseback riding.

Bird Watching

Dalhousie is increasingly becoming a popular place to enjoy the ever growing passtime of birdwatching. Various species of birds are found throughout the Restigouche region, especially at the Dalhousie Marina, Inch Arran Park, Eel River Bar area, Dalhousie Lagoon, Atholville Wetlands and Heron Island to name a few.

These are a few of the more important and richer birding areas within the immediate vicinity. For further information, particularily on individual species, contact Mike Lushington at (506) 684-5688 (between the hours of 12 :00 and 1 :00 pm).
